Move-Out Checklist
We truly appreciate your residency with Hudson Homes!
Our aim is to ensure your transition is seamless, and we want to make the return of your security deposit as easy as possible. To help us achieve that, please follow the instructions provided in this guide.
Hudson Homes Move-Out Standards
- Submit your official notice to move out on your Resident Portal.
- Provide a forwarding address as soon as it is available.
- Confirm your move out date at least 35 days prior to move out.
- Place the entry door key in the permanent lock box provided. If no lock box, place the key in a kitchen drawer (photo required during move out confirmation).
- Place the garage door opener in kitchen drawer (photo required during move out confirmation on your resident portal).
- Restore the home to its original move-in condition.
- Remove all personal belongings and trash from the interior and exterior of the home.
- Repair any resident (including guest and pet) caused damage, including but not limited to:
- Damage to painted surfaces
- Broken drawers, handles and blinds
- Clogged sinks or drains
- Torn screens
- Missing door stops
- Restore all aspects of the home to their original condition, such as surfaces painted a custom color.
- Clean the home and all surfaces to a professional standard, including inside appliances.
- Remove excessive staining or dirt on floors, including carpet stains and blemishes.
- Maintain the exterior landscaping, including a final grass cut, edge, weed removal, shrub trim, remove decorative items such as holiday decorations, ornamental fixtures, and remove pet waste.
- The following list is considered normal wear and tear, and the resident is not responsible to repair these items prior to move out:
o Minor wall damage
o Loose hinges or door knobs
o Minimal weed growth in landscaping
